STRONGFIRST CERTIFICATION PREP
Private online and in-person coaching for SFG I, SFG II, SFL, SFB, and recertification candidates who want clear technique, stronger standards, and a smarter prep plan.
More than passing a skills test…
StrongFirst certifications are demanding for a reason. The tested skills matter, but they are not the whole weekend. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate strong technique standards, conditioning, teaching ability, professionalism, coachability, and composure under pressure.
Most candidates prepare for the tests. Certification prep with EDK helps you approach the full weekend strategically: what to prioritize, what to clean up, and how to arrive steady, capable, and ready to coach.
why work with coach ericka
StrongFirst has been part of my coaching foundation for more than a decade and I’ve been on both sides of a certification weekend as a candidate and Assistant Instructor. I understand what candidates are tested on, what often gets missed in preparation, and how to help you train for the whole experience, not just the required tests.
Certification prep with me is direct, detailed, and supportive. We look honestly at your lifts, refine the details that improve power, control, timing, and efficiency, and build your training around your timeline, your body, your equipment, and the certification you’re pursuing.
Every candidate I’ve coached for StrongFirst certification prep has passed and earned their instructor credential. I don’t say that as a promise. I say it because specific coaching, clear feedback, and respect for the process matter.
“Ericka’s coaching was instrumental in building my confidence for SFG I certification. She helped me understand the standards required and corrected technical issues with my swing, clean, snatch, and get-up. Her knowledge and clear feedback made a tremendous difference in my preparation.”

how certification prep works
We start by looking at where you are now, where you need to be, and how much time you have before certification weekend. From there, we build a realistic plan that gives your training more direction, keeps a sharp eye on your skills, and helps you make steady progress without guessing.
what we work on:
Certification readiness assessment
Technique refinement for required skills
Strength and conditioning programming
Training frequency and necessary recovery
Snatch test strategy and pacing
Teaching practice, cueing, and professionalism

“Ericka instructs on both form and breath in a way that feels like I’m being guided versus being corrected. She’s a natural teacher. As a result of our online lessons, I’m feeling more confident in my kettlebell practice and decided to attend SFG I.”
Certification prep is available through private online coaching, in-person coaching in NE Minneapolis, or a hybrid approach depending on your timeline, equipment, and certification goals.
“I trained with Ericka for my StrongFirst Barbell Certification and SFG recertification. When obstacles came up, she stayed levelheaded, adjusted the plan, and helped me stay on track. I felt ready going into certification weekend and passed both successfully.”
EDK Training provides independent certification prep coaching, not a guarantee of passing. StrongFirst certifications, standards, testing, and official credentials are administered by StrongFirst.
