top training tools
Equipment recommendations for kettlebell training, online coaching, and at-home strength practice.
Not sure which kettlebells, weights, or training tools are worth the investment? These are the basics I recommend for EDK students training online, in small groups, or at home.
For kettlebells, choose quality cast iron when possible. Avoid enamel-coated, rubber, or aluminum bells for regular technique practice.
Start with the essentials and build from there. You do not need a crowded gym or a pile of equipment to train well, but the right tools make your practice safer, smoother, and more consistent.
Kettlebell Weight Suggestions
Women: 8–10kg, 12kg and 16kg
Men: 12kg, 16kg and 20–24kg
Double Kettlebells
Once you have a go-to kettlebell weight, consider adding a second bell of the same size for double kettlebell skills. Best for students with 3-6 months of consistent practice or more.
Mobility + Release
A foam roller and wooden dowel are simple, affordable tools for mobility work, warm-ups, and movement pattern practice.
Camera + Audio for Online Training
For virtual small group training or online coaching, you’ll need two-way camera and audio access. EDK needs to see and hear you clearly to give useful technique feedback and coaching cues.
